Q1. Will my dog actually tolerate a full-body suit?
A: Don’t worry too much! Most dogs get used to Trail X after 1–3 walks. The pattern is made from 24 individual pieces, and we’re on our 7th iteration, all tested on our in-house model Molly, to make sure dogs can run, jump, and pee comfortably without restriction. Start with a short walk and a few treats, and most dogs quickly forget they’re even wearing it. If your dog still seems uncomfortable, reach out to us anytime with feedback :) We’re happy to help and are always improving the design.
Q2. Is it going to be too hot?
A: Any layer will add some warmth, but Trail X is built with a lightweight, breathable 3-layer fabric so it doesn’t trap heat like a plastic raincoat. It’s designed for cold, wet, and muddy conditions: think rain, slush, and chilly trails. Some customers even use it in summer for swimming or brushy areas to help protect against underwater branches, foxtails, and bugs/ticks on the skin. On warm, dry days, you usually don’t need it; as a rule of thumb, if you’re comfortable in a light shell, your dog will be too.
Q3. How hard is it to put on and take off?
A: There’s a tiny learning curve, but once you’ve done it a few times, most owners can suit up in about 1–2 minutes. The long zipper and closures are designed so you can put the head first, each leg in, zip, and go. Taking it off at the door is even faster.
A: Start by measuring your dog’s back length and chest girth. Back length is the priority measurement for Trail X. Then, match them to our size chart. You can also check the model references on this page to see what size similar dogs are wearing. If your dog is between sizes, size down for a snug fit or size up for a roomier, more relaxed fit. Not sure? Reach out, and we’ll help you choose. And if you still don’t nail it on the first try, your first size exchange is free, so you can feel free to try.
Q5. Is it easy to clean?
A: Yes, that’s the whole point. For light dirt, just rinse or wipe off the mud and hang it to dry (out of direct high heat). For a heavier mess, you can machine wash cold on gentle and tumble dry low. No bleach or fabric softeners. Trail X is purpose-built to handle real mud, rain, and repeat wash cycles.
Q6. Does it really keep my car and home cleaner?
A: Trail X covers the belly, chest, and legs, so most of the mud, splashes, and trail grit stay on the jacket instead of in your dog’s fur. That means less wiping, less mopping floors, and less mud/dirt on your car seats. Most customers tell us they use far fewer wipes and spend way less time cleaning after walks! More time cuddling, less time scrubbing.
Q7. What are your shipping and return policies?
A: A: We ship from Seattle within 48 hours (Mon–Fri) via USPS or UPS. Standard U.S. shipping (3–5 business days) is free on orders over $100. Expedited 2–3 day delivery is available at checkout.
We accept returns and exchanges within 14 calendar days of delivery for clean, unused gear in original condition. Returns or exchanges must be initiated within 14 days of delivery.
Your first size or color exchange per order is free (outbound shipping covered by PAWTRK). Return shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility unless the item arrived damaged/incorrect or Return Coverage was added at checkout.
Once a return label is issued, items must be shipped back within 7 calendar days. Returns not shipped within this timeframe may be automatically closed.
Returned items must be clean and free of hair, dirt, or odor to pass inspection.
Items marked Final Sale (including products discounted 30% or more) are not eligible for refunds. Some Limited Edition colorways may be eligible for exchange but not refund.

Made with human-grade technical fabric that stands up to muddy seasons year after year. Rely less on wipes, extra baths, and all those bottles of shampoo and cleaner under the sink.
We love this jacket for our golden retriever! The material is waterproof and so light weight, keeps all the snow from clinging to her fur. It’s now an essential for our fair weather adventures. For reference, Maisy is ~45lbs wearing a size 3.

Protection on Every Level!
It is so nice to know with our trail series jacket not only can we avoid the inconvenience of post adventure clean up from mud, but also really protect Boreal. Ticks can pose a very real threat with diseases, and burrs can burrow deep into a dogs skin. It really gives me a peace of mind to know Boreal is that much more protected with her trail jacket. The design is sleek and the material is human grade and offers protection without being thick or bulky. I am confident Boreal isn't overheating and able to move naturally, plus it even has a hidden pocket to store treats, poop bags, or any other little trail essentials. I can't imagine life without it!

Great product, great customer service!
I am so happy with this jacket, my muddy hikes no longer require 20 minutes of cleanup! I just zip it off, clean and dry paws, dry face and we are done! The jacket wipes off easily. The cut out for boy-dogs to be able to go potty is brilliant, and my active aussie is entirely comfortable. They helped me get a great fit, and I am happy to do business with a small local company. You can see his uninhibited joy in the slo mo video, and his freedom at speed.

A true all-season trail jacket with incredible coverage
The PawTrk Trail Series jacket has quickly become one of the best pieces of gear we’ve used for hikes. Quinn is hard to fit, so I always share her measurements for reference. Her back is 21 inches and her chest is 28 inches, and the size 3 fits her perfectly with room to move comfortably.
The coverage on this jacket is exactly what we needed. The full-coverage design actually protects her chest and belly, which means no more soaked, muddy fur underneath after a trail walk. She usually gets dirty immediately, but this jacket keeps her clean and dry with no restriction to her movement.
The 3-layer lightweight shell is impressive. It keeps her dry in rain and mud, but it’s breathable enough that she doesn’t overheat. It truly feels all-season ready, whether we’re out in light rain, wet grass, or chilly wind.
The built-in hood is such a thoughtful detail. It keeps her ears protected on windy or rainy days, and the built-in collar makes leash attachment quick and simple. The interior is also super easy to clean. Most days a quick wipe is enough, but the fact that it’s machine-wash and dryer-safe is a huge plus for real outdoor adventures.
Another feature I love is the packable side-pocket fold. The entire jacket folds into its own pocket, making it so easy to bring along on hikes or store in the car.
Overall, the quality is incredible, the protection is real, and the fit was spot on for Quinn. If your dog hikes, gets messy easily, or needs reliable weather protection, this jacket is absolutely worth it. It exceeded everything I was expecting.
